Cabaret du Ciel
was founded in 1986 in Treviso, Italy by Luigi Morosin, initially as an ambient solo project. In 1989 Andrea Desiderà joined the project, beginning a new musical approach, more focused on electro-acoustic instrumentation. After a long hiatus, the two reformed with Giorgio Ricci joining them.

Liquid sounds and an inventive approach to composition make this album a very fulfilling experience. Electronic fluids mix with jazzy atmospheres and an undercurrent of clubbiness. Thoroughly enjoyable and surprising. A must-have imo. The three remixes are awesome too.

4 peaceful jazz vignettes. Belt of Venus is aquamarine, with a slow, tidal energy as dignified as the sea. The aptly named plantwood is budding, emergent as flowers on dewy moss in the forest. Stained Glass Sauna has a smoky, mountain resonance, while the Sunken Cabin emerges slowly from dust-mote stillness to tortured but deliberating peaks. The whole thing is bursting with character.
